Los Detectives are Mariona Naudin, María García Vera and Marina Colomina. The company, established in 2016 in Barcelona, develops projects that investigate the possibilities of the stage; questioning it limits to generate their own language. Each of them comes from fields such as anthropology, film studies and fine arts. They take advantage of their interests to expand their scenic proposals, which are nourished by an exhaustive field work, researching on the gaze and its relationship with body and desire.

We are especially interested in exploring fragility and the ridicule. We are delving into strategies of estrangement, trying to dialogue with the intelligence of the audience, putting into play the abilities of the performers. Our work is fresh and fun and reaches all kinds of people.

So far, we have done three pieces; the first, Kopfkino (Mercat de les Flors, 2016) explores the repercussions of the consumption of audiovisual fictions on bodies and identities from a gender perspective, as a physical collage with a lot of humor. In our second work Pienso casa, digo silla (Festival Grec, 2019), we enter the world of medieval mystics and especially the figure of Hildegard von Bingen to talk about the potentiality of belief and to claim the experiential knowledge that these visionary  voices have contributed to history; we build a narrative inspired by them and approach the issue from a contemporary perspective.

We have just premiered Concrete Matter, a work where the referents are on stage with us: our mothers. On this occasion we propose a scenic device that speaks of projection and realization through the bodies, ours and those of our mothers. The piece is a personal version of The Three Sisters in which we play with the inherent codes of theater, performance and choreography to speak and question ourselves from fragility and humor.
